It just proves I can't tell one C-hop from another.

@Baron: Fuggles 3.8%, Goldings 4.2%. Two of the three bottles were £1.70 and the other was £1.54 but the receipt is impenetrable. I got them with a few others from Booths' supermarket who have an excellent range of British beers with an emphasis on Cumbrians as you'd expect.NAMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13247378318975737305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6617708725553059852.post-20622968716946214372010-06-10T11:46:56.807+01:002010-06-10T11:46:56.807+01:00NAM, they sound like very special bottles to me! What ABV & price are they?

Rob, cheers for the comments, funny how you can't get the beer in the town it's brewed!

I'll looking forward to the Cascade but I'll bear in mind your comments so that I'm not expecting a hop monster! Will have to get myself over to your neck of the woods one day for a Saltaire brewery & pub tour! #twissup?Baron Ormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16440684094621860149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6617708725553059852.post-55973378500334404602010-06-10T11:38:34.228+01:002010-06-10T11:38:34.228+01:00NAM...Saltaire Challenger? I thought they stopped brewing that years ago?

Baron, The Saltaire beers are all great. Not had Blonde and Triple Choc out of a bottle yet I can't even get TripChoc in my local shops in Saltaire yet.Enjoyed them on handpull many times tho. Cascade is awesome but the hops are a bit dull in the bottle its fecking mind-blowing drinking it fresh at the brewery.

As for Osset (I grew up in Wakefield) Excelsior is great but the treacle stout is a bit average.Robhttp://hopzine.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6617708725553059852.post-9078938839489735872010-06-09T22:17:42.853+01:002010-06-09T22:17:42.853+01:00I was fortunate enough to get bottles of Saltaire ...I was fortunate enough to get bottles of Saltaire Fuggles, Goldings and Challenger yesterday. They'll make a fascinating comparison.NAMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13247378318975737305noreply@blogger.com
