Morrisons February ale & beer offers (24th January - 27th February 2011)

It's February's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons (or rather it was last week) so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch yesterday to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Ringwood Boondoggle
    £1.25 instead of £1.75
Most of this month's offers are within the 'baron bargain' price range (£1.30 or less), if I was in a beer-buying mood I'd probably go for some Fursty Ferret & Tanglefoot. I did notice that unlike other months, Ormskirk Morrisons had full shelves for each of the ales on offer so at least if you like the ale on offer you've a chance of actually buying some!

Ringwood Best Bitter

Morrisons November ale & beer offers (8th - 28th November 2010)

It's November's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch today to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Brains SA Gold [baron rating coming soon]
    £1.25 instead of £1.67
  • Greene King Suffolk Springer
    £1.53 instead of £2.03
A long list of offers this month and most are pretty good, there's quite a deduction on the strong ales, I think my 'baron pick' is the Adnams Broadside, it's so rich & smooth - perfect for long cold nights at home!

Morrisons August ale & beer offers (9th August - 5th September 2010)

It's August's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch on Tuesday to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Holts Humdinger
  • £1.19 instead of £1.69
  • Marston's Pedigree VSOP [baron rating coming soon]
  • £1.95 instead of £2.25

The winner this month is Worthington's White Shield, it's a quality bottle conditioned ale with a superb mouthfeel, so light & frothy and very balanced as well.

Morrisons May ale & beer offers (7th June - 11th July 2010)

It's June's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch today to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Greene King Suffolk Springer
  • £1.55 instead of £2.05
The Burton Bitter is the only ale within the 'baron bargain' price range (£1.30 or less) but I find it very thin and watery hence the [baron rating 2/5]. The Suffolk Springer is probably this month's winner have a decent discount on a high ABV ale.

Let's just say the baron didn't stock up on anything today :(

Morrisons April ale & beer offers (12th April - 9th May 2010)

It's April's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch today to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Marston's Pale Ale [baron rating coming soon]
  • £1.50 instead of £1.70
  • Wells Banana Bread Beer
  • £1.23 instead of £1.43
A good set of offers this month, four within the 'baron bargain' range (less than £1.30 per bottle). The winner this month by far is the Old Empire offer, this is one of my favourite beers and at £1.28 for a tasty strong ale it's a great offer!

As always I'll check back next month...

Morrisons February ale & beer offers (1st Feb - 7th Mar 2010) (Ormskirk)

It's February's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch today to check them out.

Here are the details:
  • Marston's Pale Ale
    £1.39 instead of £1.65

There was nothing this month that really caught my eye, these discounts mainly bring the cost of the more expensive ones down to the same price as if you were buying the £1.67 bottles at the '4 for £5.50' price (£1.38 per bottle).

As always I'll report any changes or new additions that I see, and check back in a month to see if March's offers are any better!

Morrisons December ale & beer offers (29th Nov - 3rd Jan) (Ormskirk)

It's December's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch today to check them out.  There is nothing that special reduced this time round which is a shame as a cracking deal at Christmas time could clear their shelves.  They have the same beers on offer as last month with a few more added at about the same price.

Here are the details:
  • Greene King Suffolk Springer
    £1.49 instead of £1.99
  • Marston's Strong Pale Ale
    £1.39 instead of £1.59

They also had a rather interesting 12-bottle 'Classic Ales of England' box which I've not seen before, contain two bottles of the following beers for £14 (£1.17 per bottle):
All of these offers are valid until 3rd January so I'll check back then to see what's next!

    Makro's November ale offers (18th Nov - 1st Dec)

Saw the new Makro Mail today, they have some interesting ale offers on starting on Wednesday 18th November running until the 1st December. The offers are:

Buy any two 8-bottles packs for £18.98 working out at £1.19 per bottle. Choose from:
    • Marston's Strong Pale Ale
    • Ringwood Forty Niner
    • Ringwood Old Thumper
Buy any two 12-bottle boxes for £25.30 working out at £1.06 per bottle. Choose from:
Or buy a 24-bottle case of Samuel Adams Boston Lager [baron rating 5/5] for £20.69 working out at 86p per bottle.

The Abbot Ale deal is excellent, the cheapest I've ever seen it, but the Sam Adams has to be the winner, this crisp, tasty imported American ale is just 86p/bottle!

It's new beer & ale offers time in Morrisons so I popped into the local Ormskirk branch yesterday to check them out. Overall the discounts are not great (most can be picked up in other places for similar or cheap prices) & it was funny how they had no stock of the freshly heavily discounted Brains SA...

    Here are the details:
    • Greene King Suffolk Springer
      £1.49 instead of £1.99
    • Marston's Strong Pale Ale
      £1.39 instead of £1.59
    • Morland Old Crafty Hen
