I judged for the SIBA North beer competition which was hosted in Manchester yesterday. Beer judging is always a good day out - sample great beers, help pick the winners & catch up with fellow beer lovers. One such mate is Rob from HopZine also known as @BGRTRob on twitter. He handed over a couple of bottles of his homebrew as well as this bottle:

myBrewerytap's autumn selection of the '52 week beer club'
Chris & I have been a member of myBrewerytap's 52 week beer club since December and our 4th quarter's pack arrived a this week. It arrived in perfect condition as always.
This pack is a bit of a special one as it's the end of mybrewerytap's first year of the club so Richard has pulled out all the stops to make sure it's a cracking pack. Chris & I have been very fortunate to sample some of the beers in this pack over the past year and there are some real winners in here.

A very welcome parcel arrived today, a selection of ales from Ossett & Saltaire breweries courtesy of myBrewerytap. Both breweries have been recently added to myBrewerytap and the Saltaire ales have been some that I've wanted to try ever since HopZine mentioned them sometime ago.

- Excelsior 5.2% - mellow yet full flavour that develops into a fruity dryness on the palate. A fresh, hoppy aroma with citrus and floral characteristics
- Treacle Stout 5% - rich and robust stout with deep coffee flavours
- Saltaire Blonde 4% - straw coloured, easy drinking blonde ale
- Saltaire Cascade Pale Ale 4.8% - golden coloured, hoppy, American style pale ale
