Looking forward to 'baron rating' Adnams Tally-Ho 2010 very soon!

Fergus (head brewer) of Adnams was very kind last year and sent us through a beer that they had started bottling again - Tally-Ho 2009 [baron rating 5/5]. It was my Open It! beer as well as it's such a lovely beer to savour. I was very pleased today as Fergus sent through some of the 2010 version for us to review:

Adnams Brewery
  • Tally-Ho 2010 - 7.2% dark mahogany red with a rich, fruity aroma and a heart warming sweet raisin and biscuit palate.
Look out for 'baron ratings' for these Adnams beers soon, and a big thank you to @SoleBear & @Adnams from Adnams for sending these through to me!

Looking forward to 'baron rating' more Williams Bros ales very soon!

Williams Bros tweeted some photos last week of their new 330ml bottles for their premium craft lager. It has a very funky gently embossed main label as well as a smart looking 'over cap' label. (click the photo to the right to see a zoom in of the funky label details)

Well I'm happy to say that some samples of the above mentioned lager were delivered to Baron Towers this morning along with a few others that haven't had the full 'baron rating' treatment yet:

Williams Bros Brewery
  • Black - 4.2% rich dark ale
  • Ceilidh - 4.7% premium craft lager, matured for 90 days to produce a delicious, crisp, citrusy lager
  • Cock O'The Walk - 4.3% warm red ale with a lovely citrusy hoppy aroma
  • Harvest Sun - 3.9% golden ale with a dry, crisp flavour & sweet, hoppy aroma

Pitfield's Eco Warrior

Pitfield's Eco Warrior [baron rating 2/5] - 4.5% gold flat ale, slight pineapple smell, crisp fruity citrus taste, slight bittersweet finish
Note: The reason for the low score was the complete lack of carbonation. I was lucky enough to be given this by AlesByMail but if I had paid £2.50+ for this bottle I would have been extremely disappointed. I'm sure that with a good amount of condition this beer would have been extremely enjoyable, I would welcome the chance to re-rate it in the future.

Note: Bottle conditioned and no carbonation

Thank you to Paul from AlesByMail for sending this through for a 'baron rating'!
