Looking forward to baron rating George Wright ales

George Wright are a very local brewer, brewing just down the road from Ormskirk in Rainford. I don't often see their beers in the pubs around Ormskirk but I have had the odd pint of Cheeky Pheasant or Drunken Duck in other Lancashire pubs.

They have very recently joined Twitter and mentioned that they had a range of single-hopped bottles available. Now anyone who knows me will know that the words "bottle" and "single hopped" will get me excited so I got in touch to see if they fancied some 'baron ratings'.

Shaun from George Wright called by Baron Towers yesterday to drop off a fine selection of ales:

George Wright Brewery
  • Citra 51 - 5.1% limited edition ale, hops from the USA, mango, tropical fruit and lime
  • Mount Hood 51 - 5.1% limited edition ale,hope from the USA,herbal & grapefruit

  • Cheeky Pheasant - 4.7% classic deep golden ale, gentle taste of raisin and berry fruits, combined with the richness of malty toffee
  •  Pipe Dream - 4.3% wonderfully rich golden IPA,refreshing citrus flavour, subtle hints of grapefruit and lemon followed by a crisp long dry hoppy zing
  • Pure Blonde - 5% blonde lager, made with finest pilsner malt, balanced with German, Czech & Polish hops
The also dropped off a George Wright-branded glass which is taller and more slender than a normal pint pot making it stand out and a little cute pin badge as well as a "single hop calendar" - which details the hops that they are going to use for each of their monthly single hop specials!

Look out for 'baron ratings' for these George Wright Brewery beers soon, and a big thank you to Shaun (@GWrightsbrewing) for handing them over to me!
